A Right Decision.

The Denver Retail Grocers' Association some time ago set out to force all non-union grocers to close their doors on Sunday. About 500 of these smaller shops in the city opposed this action and maintained that they were being deprived of their rights as citizens. The Denver County Court decided for the Grocers' Association. It was carried to the Supreme Court, and the judgment was reversed, and the case remanded, with instructions to dismiss the complaint. The opinion declares that “a business or occupation that is not liable to interfere with public morality or tend to create disorder, and over which the city has no special control, can not be singled out and made the subject of prohibition on Sunday.” This is good sound sense as far as it goes.
