His Power Toward Us

God has given us in Christ an example and a demonstration of the power that He has pledged to humanity for the victory over sin. It is “the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places.” Eph. 1:19, 20. We stop the quotation at this point, but the scripture does not stop there but goes on to show how high that power exalted Christ above all power and might and dominion, everything in fact, and made Him to be the head of the church, “the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.” This is the power that is pledged for the soul that trusts in God through the Lord Jesus Christ. And this is the demonstration of what that power did for Christ in order that it might do it for all who trust in Christ. And as surely as it lifted Christ from death to place Him on the throne of God, so surely will it lift all who trust in Christ, raising them from death and dead works to a place with Christ in His throne. There is power enough, the work large enough, the victory complete enough; through a faith that works by love we make it ours, absolutely our very own.
