Bryan to Seek Nebraska Senate Seat

The editor of William J. Bryan’s paper, The Commoner, of Lincoln, Neb., has announced that Bryan will be a candidate for the United States Senate to succeed the Republican Senator Burkett, whose term expires March 4, 1911. Bryan will make the race under a direct primary law modeled after that of Oregon, which makes it possible for a Democrat to succeed even tho the Legislature chosen at the same time is Republican. Nebraska politicians, it is said, are predicting his success, which would be quite probable under such a primary arrangement.
