Objective or Incidental?

With many God’s work is an incident, not an object. First thought is not given to it. It is treated as a matter to which some attention must be given, but as little as possible. The objects of life are temporal things, and to them our best in time and strength are given. Think of it! Temporal, perishing things, first interest! Things of eternity, mere incidents!
