“The Doorless House”

A RECENT periodical has an article on “The Doorless House,” meaning houses which have only portieres or screens and no doors, and therefore no privacy. Not only doors, but also the old-fashioned family room has disappeared from modern houses, and home life in the old intimate sense has largely disappeared. Most modern families have homeless homes, especially if they live in cities. Family life is waning, family prayer is rare, and home training of children in religion is found in but very few families to-day.—Detroit Tribune.
