Not a National Revelation

Not a National Revelation.— The California Christian Advocate, of August 5, truly says: “It must be admitted that the most important thing is the revelation of the will of God. . . . There can not be such a thing as a national revelation.” If our neighbor would carry this principle, this thought, to its logical conclusion, it would never again demand that a state should enforce a religious, weekly, worship day. It is too much to ask that our neighbor should see this, for consistency was never a factor in religious legislation. But O, what a relief it would be if Sunday-law advocates could find ground for their work in Divine Revelation.
