China Protests Japanese Railway Scheme

The Chinese Government has recalled her minister Wu Ting Fang, and in his place sends a more progressive man, Chang Yin Ting. China wants the aid of America and the powers against Japan's action in the building of the Antung-Mukden railway; and declares that the construction of this road is a part of a military scheme to conquer China. China's appeal will put the powers on record. Her protest is said to be “distinctly the most important utterance on the Far Eastern Question that has been made within the last three years.”
