The Chinese Republic

SURELY every lover of missions will be glad that the United States government is recognizing the Chinese republic, and will hope and pray that that Chinese republic will be able to stand at least until God's work is finished in the giving of His blessed gospel. The fact that that republic wishes the prayers of the Christians that are within it, ought to touch the hearts of Christians everywhere. Now is the time to press on with the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Chinese, a gospel that knows no entangling alliances with the civil power, which does not preach an American, or a German, or an English gospel, but the gospel of Jesus Christ, adapted as truly to the Chinese need as to the need of the inhabitants of any other country.
