Our Bible Band

Sunday May 4 2 Samuel 14, 15 Monday " 5 " 16, 17 Tuesday " 6 " 18, 19 Wednesday " 7 " 20, 21 Thursday " 8 " 22 Friday " 9 " 23, 24 Sabbath " 10 Psalms 30, 31, 32
Our reading for the week embraces the rest of 2 Samuel, giving a history of the reign of David, the difficulties that he encountered, the sad consequences of his many wives, and the sons that he was unable to control. Absalom's rebellion against him and the death of the petted idol of the kingdom, David's lament and his return to Jerusalem, his troubles with Joab, his numbering of the people, all are told with such detailed faithfulness that it stamps the whole account with inspiration. God does not hide the sins of the greatest of kings. Very instructive and helpful are the psalms which close our week's reading, 30, 31, 32.
