Suggestive Notes

Our morning devotions begin with Psalm 20, closing with Psalm 36; and among these also there are some which ought to be read and reviewed. Among these is Psalm 22 which describes the experience of our Lord Jesus Christ. Among them also are psalms which we ought to learn, such as the 20th, 23rd, 24th, the 32d, and the 34th.
Our New Testament lessons begin with Acts 21 and close with Acts 25. In these are recorded the close of Paul's voyage to Jerusalem, his reception at Jerusalem, his arrest in the temple, his defense before the Jews and before the Sanhedrin, his despatch to Felix, his defense before Felix which consists of the preaching of the Gospel. Festus succeeded Felix in the government of the province and we find Paul brought before him. Paul appeals unto Cæsar rather than to be tried by the Jews. Festus allows his appeal, but waits for the coming of King Agrippa and Bernice in order that they with him may hear Paul so that he shall have something more definite to write to Cæsar.
