Denver Boiler Explosion

As a result of a boiler explosion in the power-house of the Denver Gas and Electric Company, located at Sixth and Lawrence Streets, at 6:30 on the night of June 15, three persons were killed and several injured. The boiler was thrown 800 feet into the air by the force of the explosion. It crashed through the top of the plant, completely wrecking the generator and walls, cut off the lights, and for more than two hours the city was in darkness. A property damage of nearly half a million dollars resulted.
