The Tariff.—

Our lawmakers at Washington are busy at the present time trying to draw a tariff bill by which to secure to the government a proper revenue. An effort has been made to have all parts of the country represented before the committees, and thus to secure legislation that would be satisfactory to all. Just how far everybody will be satisfied it is hard to say, but considerable criticism is being offered on one hand and the other.
