Follow the Lord, Not Run Ahead

The Lord wants us to follow Him; not run ahead of Him. He that believes will not make haste; he will not run ahead of the providences of God. And if we follow, we certainly will not act independently instead of following the plan of the Lord. When we run ahead of the Lord, as Peter did on several occasions, we have the hosts of Satan to meet alone, and we are bound to go down in defeat. When we follow Him, He goes before us and we are not overcome by the enemy, and only so will He be with us alway, even to the end of the world.
