The Pope’s Atheist Physicians

The Pope employs two consulting physicians; neither one of these is Catholic. Both are said to be atheistic. An objection was made to him regarding this. He replied by saying: “Science does not demand at what altar you worship.” And yet other things being equal, we think that we should prefer a Christian physician. The names of the pope’s physicians are Mazzoni and Rossini. They are noted and able physicians.
