“The Centennial of Religious Journalism.”

Edited by Rev. J. Pressley Bartlett, D.D., editor “Herald of Gospel Liberty.” Price, cloth, $1.15; morocco, $2.15, post-paid.
The “Herald of Gospel Liberty” was first issued Sept. 1, 1868, the first religious newspaper. The editor states, “This book is designed to commemorate the first century of the history of the ‘Herald of Gospel Liberty,’ and therein to give a bird’s-eye view of the work and progress of the Christian Church.” The matter for the book, which contains 650 pages, is prepared by a large number of writers, under five divisions: Historical, Editorial Gems, many of which are excellent, Early Leaders, Century Churches, and Conventions. The volume has been well received by the members of the church whose last century of history it entertainingly tells.
