Summer Session at the University of California
The Summer Session of the University of California has become an interesting and striking feature of the great university. This year the scope of the subjects has been widened. Admission is granted to all persons, teachers, and others who are able to profit by the exercises of the session. No formal examinations are required for entrance, and the tuition fee, regardless of the number of courses taken, is $15.00. This entitles the student to admission to the series of evening lectures and musicales in Hearst Hall, to the full privileges of the university library, and to medical advice and hospital care without extra charge in case of illness brought on while the student is there. Instruction will be given not only by members of the regular university faculty, but by a number of distinguished men of letters and science from Eastern universities and Europe. Outside of the regular university courses special attention will be given to agriculture, household economics, and other things that are of intensely practical use in country home life. The evening lectures are considered to be of almost as much educational value as work in the class-room.
