The New York Legislature has only twenty-five Sunday bills before it now, and it looks as tho about three weeks would be consumed in hearings and discussions of the bills. All sorts and kinds of amendments and more rigid restrictions are urged by the reformers, and yet our Sunday-law friends in California would have us believe that the milder measures which they are now advocating are satisfactory. They are but the entering-wedges to a worse union of church and state than the world ever knew.
