Government Deficit and Tariff Debate

The financial situation is somewhat desperate. The Government deficit has reached $13,000,000 a month, and it is said that if a tariff bill is not passed in the extra session, the deficit will run up to $25,000,000 a month; so that either appropriations must be cut down or tariff increased.
