The Race Problem.

Mr. Taft, in speaking in New Orleans, February 12, declared that “the North must keep its hands off the race problem. The question is one for the South to solve.” To the negro he said that he must work out his own future. He wants the negro to regard himself not as a problem, but as a citizen. It looks sometimes that only the great God Himself could ever settle the problem. Sometimes the more humanity wishes to settle it, the worse they make it.
