Arise, and Go to Thy Father

O WANDERER, arise! Why such delay? Thy Father in His mansion waits for thee; His anxious, fervent wish it is to see Thee, boy, ahungered, homeless, far away.
What does it matter if thy cloak be soiled? The spotless, gorgeous robe the Father wears Will cover over the unseemly tears Within thy garment, tattered—O, so spoiled!
Thy Father—never was there one so kind— Will not assign thee to a servant’s place; But rather He will share with thee His store. He will not bring the former things to mind; His only wish is to behold thy face And call thee son, His son, once more.
