Children's Education in Sunday Newspapers

A new theory in the education of schoolgirls is that from the tenderest years they should be surrounded by beautiful, artistic things, with the choicest, most delicate perfumes, pictures of old masters hung in the schools; and the outdoor walks should run through lanes bordered with beautiful and brilliant flowers, among trees filled with birds of bright plumage and sweet songs. The suggestion is worthy of consideration. But what about the other side, of the wretchedly cheap pictures and grotesque figures in our Sunday dailies? Think of the education that American children are getting there!
