Recent Advances in Air Navigation

In the matter of air navigation there seems to have been considerable advancement during the year. In England, France, and the United States distinct advancement has been made. The latest achievement was by the Lebaudy brothers of France, who sailed into Paris from a distance of forty-six miles against a six-mile wind, and landed their airship in the place where they had announced they would land. Experts consider that this fact is a more remarkable one than any of those of Santos Dumont. An English aeronaut has sailed a distance of about thirty-seven miles without mishap, and a San Franciscan has made a successful voyage over San Francisco. Various builders of airships intend to compete for a prize at the St. Louis Exposition next year.
