New York Teachers Form Union

A teacher’s union has been formed in Greater New York, comprising practically all the public school teachers in that municipality. They are not now affiliated with the Central Federation of Unions; but it is in reality the first step in that direction. The public schools of Chicago long ago formed themselves into a union, and it has been reported that other cities had followed their example. It is strictly in harmony with the spirit of confederacy which is abroad in the world at the present time. This New York teachers’ union has a membership of 13,000.
