CHRISTIAN WORK.

The first newspaper in the Tibetan language has appeared. It is a quarto sheet of four pages in double columns. The title, Ladak Newspaper, stands at the head in bold Tibetan characters, the same which are used in both Buddhist and Christian religious books. The first number contains four articles—political, news, literary, and religious—the latter being a discussion of a Tibetan proverb relating to the imperfection of the Lama, and pointing out that Jesus Christ is the perfect priest between God and man. It is printed at the Moravian mission press of Leh, in Tibetan script. Altho Tibet is shut against the missionary, Tibetan Bibles and tracts are continually being carried into the closed land.
