“Not Discouraged.”

We recently received a letter from a fellow-worker in the South who had just lost three buildings by fire, upon only one of which there was small insurance. Nearly all the property he had in the world was burned, including nearly all of his household goods; his wife, who was ill, barely escaping with her life. “Notwithstanding this great calamity,” he writes, “I am not discouraged.” This letter was not written for help; it was in response to a letter written to him on another matter. There may be those who have an abundance who would be glad to contribute a little to the help of this brother. We will see that it reaches its destination.
