COME WITH YOUR PRAISES.
By Llewellyn A. Morrison
BY LLEWELLYN A. MORRISON. Come with your praises, ye children of men;
Sing like the wood-birds in grotto and glen;
Tell of the bounties your Father doth share;
Carol His infinite mercy and care. Counsel your souls to be loyal and true—
All that is good He has purchased for you.
He hath no lack who relies on the Lord;
There is no want 'neath the sheltering word. Why do ye come with your sorrows, ye saints,—
Bearing a heart-load of pain and complaints,
Wailing before Him, your faith in the dust?
What hath He done to imperil your trust? Why do ye bear all the burdens of time?
Life is for freedom and fetters a crime;
Effort is duty's divinest employ;
Labor a glory, and service a joy. Come with your praises for all He hath done!
Sing for the sonship and liberty won!
Ye shall come home to the kingdom, above,
Victors because of your praise and His love.
