FUTILITY OF ONE’S OWN EFFORTS.

MULTITUDES are seeking to supply their needs by their own effort. They have laid hold of only half the truth. They know that personal effort is required, but forget that personal effort alone is as unavailing as prayer without effort. After all that we can do it is God that gives us all good things freely. “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” “Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”—Christian Advocate.
