THE OPENED FOUNTAIN.

By E. V. Shackelford

BY E. V. SHACKELFORD.
O ANCIENT house of David, Thou chosen of the Lord, Established, blessed forever, By His own gracious word;
Thou house of ancient glory, Of ancient, regal power, Thy ancient walls are shattered, Thy city and thy tower.
But, O, the cooling fountain, Whose waters never fail, Has stood the tests of ages, And ever shall avail.
It flows to all the nations; They drink and bathe and live, And weary, dusty travelers May one and all receive.
Thou precious, healing fountain Upon earth's desert shore, O, heal us, cleanse us, keep us, Now and forevermore.
