Affairs in Turkey

The inhabitants of Kurdistan are reported to be taking up arms, and the American, British, and German ambassadors are making protests against the action of the Kurds toward the Armenians. Armenian teachers are being arrested, and the houses of the Armenians are being searched by the Kurds, which is causing great fear and uneasiness. In Macedonia the Turkish regulars and Bashi Bazouks are said to be pillaging in all directions and mistreating the inhabitants. Hundreds of Bulgarian refugees are leaving that section of the country, bringing with them what they can transport, and these refugees say that the population of whole villages farther from the frontier are following their example, leaving their homes and fleeing for their lives.
