Has the World Moved?

Owing to the enlightening influence of Christianity, the world has moved since 1559. According to "the roll of the Royal College of Physicians of London," in that year "John Geynes, M. D., a graduate in medicine of the University of Oxford, was cited before the College of Physicians for impugning the infallibility of Galen. On his acknowledgement of error, and humble recantation, signed with his own hand, he was received into the college." Had Galen then been living he would doubtless have demonstrated his fallibility to the satisfaction of all, as many better physicians are constantly doing. And yet do not some of the increasing medical laws of the present time smack of the old intolerance? And it was reserved for these latter days to have the "dogma of infallibility" proclaimed regarding a mere man in spiritual matters. After all, has the world moved?
