Healdsburg College.

April 20 the writer had the privilege of attending the annual meeting of the stockholders of Healdsburg College. There was more than an ordinary attendance, which speaks fair for an increased interest in the school. As the president of the board of trustees, A. T. Jones, was absent in the East, W. C. White was chosen to preside. No annual report was given at this meeting. Rather, it was decided to so amend the by-laws that the annual meeting should come at the close of the school year, in June, and the meeting was, therefore, adjourned to June 15. According to the law, however, the trustees were elected for the ensuing year as follows: M. E. Cady, A. S. Kellogg, J. A. Dobson, C. L. Taylor, G. W. Mills, M. C. Wilcox, and A. T. Jones. At a meeting of the board the night following M. C. Wilcox resigned and M. H. Brown was chosen to fill the vacancy. In the organization of the board M. E. Cady was chosen chairman and H. G. Lucas secretary and treasurer. Professor Cady was elected as president of the faculty, and E. D. Sharpe vice-president. As all of the departments were not considered when the meeting closed at midnight, we will not give further report at this time. There is prospect of selling the college building and grounds to the city for high school purposes. This would greatly benefit the college in bringing all its educational buildings into closer proximity on the grounds of the College Home. We regret that we did not have more time to visit the school in its various departments of mental, physical, and moral training. We believe it has a greater future before it in the training of effectual laborers for God. May the Master of all abundantly bless the board of trustees, faculty, and students.
