Two Battleship Accidents

Two battle-ship accidents have occurred during the week, one in the British navy and one in that of the United States. In the former, two of England’s heaviest battle-ships crashed together, and the sinking of one or both of them was narrowly averted. The cost for repairs is estimated at $350,000. The accident in the American navy occurred off the coast of Florida, during target practise. One of the large guns was exploded by the pressure of the discharge. Three men were killed and five injured, and twelve feet of the muzzle of the gun was blown off. The cost of repair is estimated at $500,000.
