Immigration

Immigration at the port of New York during the first ten days of April reached the highest point ever attained. During that time 38,076 immigrants landed at New York and started for western points. On one day 10,375 immigrants landed. The class arriving is said to be above the average in education and cultivation. The prospect of trouble in Europe and the rigorous Russianizing of Finland are responsible for this increasing stream of immigration.
