IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE.

By Ella Cornish

Faith lights the darkest way; Hope looks unto the end; Love lifts the heart each day To Christ the pilgrims’ Friend.
There’s gain in every loss; From sorrows blessings flow; Crown follows after cross, And gladness after woe.
Then must we not repine E’en tho the way seem long; Our trials but refine, Our burdens make us strong.
Temptations triumphs bring, And conflicts, victory; Calumny’s cruel sting Drives us, O God, to Thee.
Asylum, Neb. ELLA CORNISH.
