A GOOD WORK IN HUTCHINSON, KANSAS.

From February 26 to March 23 a missionary institute was held in this city. The Kansas Tract Society met the expense of railroad fare to the institute and from it to the various fields of labor, also for board and room while in attendance, for all who would enter the work at its close and continue faithfully for five months. About forty were in attendance, and the most of these will begin work at once.
Brethren C. W. Hardesty, Union Conference agent, and F. Jencks, State agent, had charge of the general instruction and book study. Dr. Lydia E. Parmele gave daily instruction on health and temperance, and the writer on the Bible. Brethren C. McReynolds, B. E. Huffman, and Wm. Covert were with us a part of the time. Drs. S. P. S. and Maria Edwards were present on the last day of the institute. The institute was a decided success, and the workers have gone to their fields, we believe, prepared to be used of God for the accomplishment of much good.
A public service was held each evening, with good results. March 21 seventeen persons were added to the church, nine being baptized on that day. One more has united with the church since, and some others are keeping the Sabbath.
A church-school has been in progress here during the past winter, and some of the success of our meetings is directly traceable to the influence of the school. Six of those who joined were by letter, the rest on confession. R. W. PARMELE.
