BE STILL.

Be still, O heart of mine, For why shouldst thou repine Because of pain and woe That fills thy cup below!
What if thy sorrow dim The cup e'en to the brim, Or should thy cup be more Than full, be running o'er?
What if the dark clouds come While ocean billows foam? What if the mountains rise To meet the darkened skies? Be still, sad heart, be still, And wait thy Father's will; For thou must not repine, O restless heart of mine.
Weep not, O heart, nor fret; For how canst thou forget That thou art not alone? Hast thou not heard the moan Of other hearts than thine? How canst thou, then, repine? Forget thy pain, O heart, And bravely act thy part.
And when the breakers roar, Look toward the other shore, Beyond the cruel tree Where Jesus died for thee! Canst thou not trust the Lord Whose pledge is in His Word? Be still, O heart of mine, Thou shalt not more repine.
