American Contempt of Law in McClure’s

Our January McClure’s just came to hand. It is a magnificent issue of an excellent magazine. It contains, the editor tells us without design, three articles on the same subject, which he well characterizes “American Contempt of Law.” The titles of these articles are as follows: “The Shame of Minneapolis,” by Lincoln Steffens; “The Oil War of 1872,” by Ida M. Tarbell; “The Right to Work,” by Ray Stannard Baker. This issue is too near its close to note more at this time. We shall have more to say later. In the meantime read the magazine.
