Our hearts were made sad beyond all expression at 9 o’clock last night (December 30) to learn by wire that our sister publishing house, the Review and Herald, of Battle Creek, Mich., was in ashes. The loss is estimated at $350,000; insurance $150,000. No lives were lost. Particulars have not come to hand, and we break into our forms to say this. We sympathize with our brethren, and bid them hope in God. He lives, and His message which the publishing house was built to herald to the world lives; and He will overrule all for good to them that love Him.
