Rival “Elijahs.”—With Mr. “Elijah” Sanford in Maine, and Mr. “Elijah” Christmas in the Northwest Territory, both of whom claim to be the genuine, and each of whom has considerable following, what will Mr. “Elijah” Dowie do? Mr. Christmas claims, so the newspapers declare, that Mr. Dowie is a plagiarist, and stole the chief features of his scheme from himself, Mr. Christmas. Since, Mr. Dowie has greatly perverted it. Each of these men, of course, counts all others to be false. The race of spurious Elijahs is multiplying. The reader will find the genuine antitype of the mighty prophet of God to be God’s message borne to the world in these last days by a people who will take no glory to themselves.
