Russian Reformers Arrested After Report

A Russian commission appointed to formulate and bring before the government suggestions for the betterment of economic conditions in Russia, has made its report to the government, and its members are now being arrested for their recommendations. They were commanded by the government to speak freely, as it desired to know the truth. One of the recommendations was for a national congress and another advocated the remission of the peasant land taxes. Arrests of students and workingmen are now frequent in various Russian cities.
