Crippled Children in New York City

Some idea of the number of diseased children in New York City may be gained from the fact that during the visit to that city of Dr. Lorenze, the specialist in hip disease, thousands of children suffering from that disease alone were brought to the notice of the physicians. Dr. Shaffer, of the hospital for the care of crippled and deformed children, states that there are in New York City fully 30,000 such crippled children. This proportion would probably hold good in other cities. What a record sin has made for itself in this world!
