DONATIONS FOR BARBADOS.

IN our issue of October 29 we printed a letter from our missionary in Barbados, Mr. W. A. Sweany, setting forth the pitiful need of the people in that overcrowded, smallpox-ravaged island. Through sickness and quarantine many were on the verge of actual starvation. It was stated that one penny a day would keep a person from starving. The last news from the island was that the smallpox plague had in no way abated, and that the island was practically quarantined, a vital necessity, but adding greatly to the suffering. We have received to date the following:—
