Railroad Ties Made from Leather

A COMPANY has been organized under the laws of the State of Maine for the manufacture of railroad ties from old leather of all kinds and leather scraps. The leather goes through a preparatory process and then is pressed into the required shape. Ties made of this composition have been given severe tests, both as to the amount of traffic they will stand and the length of time they will last, and it is said that they have proved eminently satisfactory.
