Russia Closes Polish Libraries

The governor-general of Russian Poland has now been clothed with authority to close every public library or free reading-room maintained by individuals or corporations in the Polish province of Russia. It is thought that this measure is aimed at the Socialists and Polish Nationalists. This is the continuance of Russia’s policy of oppression and repression for the maintenance of government. There is certainly a better way to maintain authority than by such a dangerous policy as that indicated in this latest move against the people.
