The Greed of Modern Trusts

Garrett P. Serviss, the scientist, likens the rapacity and greed of the modern mill men, who grow rich upon the labor of “stunted-bodied and stunted-minded children,” to the great prehistoric saber-toothed tiger, whose tusks reached the enormous length of twelve inches. But he seems to think the ancient and horrible cat the preferable. The monstrous maws of some of the trusts seem sufficient, as their unnatural hunger is, to devour the world. These are but the evidences of the increasing greed which will destroy the world.
