The Growth of Electrical Manufacturing

The extent to which electricity is coming into the affairs of the present age is indicated in the recent report of an official of the census office on the manufacture of electrical apparatus and supplies. The amount of means employed in such manufactures is $83,130,943. These manufactures gave employment to 40,890 wage-earners. The cost of material used during the one year was $48,916,440, and the value of the products, including custom work and repairs, amounted to $91,348,889.—This in the United States alone.
