Russia Moves to Destroy Finnish Liberty

The St. Petersburg correspondent of the London Times, referring to the new ordinances soon to be promulgated by Russia in Finland, says they will completely destroy all Finnish liberty, and that unless the czar intervenes at the last moment, Finland will be struck off the roll of European nations, and become a mere province of a semi-Oriental empire. But the czar has shown no disposition to interfere with the destruction of Finland’s liberties, notwithstanding the promises made by his predecessors.
