Governor Taft Welcomed in Manila

GOVERNOR TAFT arrived at Manila on August 22, and was given an ovation by the populace. The day was made a holiday, and the city was decorated, eight large arches having been erected in the streets. Thousands of natives from adjoining provinces took part in the demonstrations.
