King Edward’s Dinner for London’s Poor

On July 5 King Edward gave a dinner to 500,000 of London's slum dwellers. The poor of the city were the king's guests for the occasion. They were gathered in about 400 halls, schools, and parks, the largest number congregating at Stepney, where no less than 45,000 took dinner.
