Congress Urged to Increase the Navy

The House Naval Committee, in reporting the new naval appropriation bill, urges upon Congress a more rapid increase in our navy. The report shows that in point of naval strength this country is not as strong comparatively as other nations, particularly Germany, which by the year 1908 will possess 38 battle-ships and 52 cruisers, with a large number of smaller vessels; while the naval strength of this country by that time will be much less than that.
